Hotels are the oldest commercial endeavor known to men. The beginning of the hotels or inns have been traced from the sixth century B.C. The urge to travel has been the greatest inputus to the hotel industry. When People travel they need a place to rest and have their meals. The invention of wheel gave a big push to the hotel industry as people could travel faster and in more comfort. Today a hotel caters to every need and wish of the guests. Hence a hotel need the services of trained staff to provide professional services for international clientele. Today the large reputed hotels and even smaller hotels desire to have trained staff, so as to provide the guests with excellent services.
The Institute of Hotel Management Catering and
Nutrition, Panipat was set up in July, 1973 by Haryana
Govt. to fulfill the need of providing trained personals for the hotels
and other related fields. This is the only
Govt. Institute in Haryana which is offering 3 years diploma course in
Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition in addition to the
course of one year and six months duration. The administrative control of
the institute is with the Haryana Tourism Corporation Ltd. |
